Why would a person of sound mind draft Cam Newton ahead of Patrick Peterson?

I don't think anyone can say 100% that Newton will be a bust because we have yet to see him play a down of football in the NFL. But there is a likelihood that he could be depending upon how he adjusts. The only judgement I will make about Newton is that his ego is not exactly one that would fit in the NFL. He has to have more humility if he wants a chance at NFL stardom. Right now that is the only thing holding him back not so much his talent. As far as Patrick Peterson is concerned, well the argument isn't so much about Peterson being better than Newton. They are in two different cles. The issue is, whether or not a team that needs a CB like the Cowboys or Broncos will take Peterson before another team can. Peterson is undoubtedly the best CB in the 1st round. So I think he will be a top 10 pick. This argument isn't about drafting Peterson ahead of Newton more so than it is about which team gets Peterson.
